- Video is a more encompassing element of your day. It provides the ability to see that tear as it streams down the grooms face as he sees his bride for the first day, to hear and relive the jokes by the bride's father as he welcomes everyone at the reception and captures the feelings that were present for your wedding day.
- Video, like photo, will last throughout time. One that you can watch each wedding anniversary, or whenever you feel like reliving your wedding day, or even perhaps to remember those that were with you on your wedding day that have either passed away or you've lost touch with.
- Video allows you to go back to that day not only in still shots but also in the music, the ambience, the celebration of the family, friends, and LOVE! A fellow videographer wrote in a book that if only people looked to their wedding videos in times of turbulence or trouble in their marriage, the divorce rate would be so much different. I agree whole heartedly with this statement as so many brides and grooms tell me that watching their day makes them relive the not only the day but the feelings that they felt on that day.
- Video, when done properly, can provide an elegant and classy way to preserve your wedding day. It doesn't have to look like Uncle Joe filmed your day at all and believe-it-or-not it has changed alot since the 90's where big cameras with big lights were the norm. Most cameras that are used today weigh under 5 pounds and the lights that they use are micro compared to the ones of yesterday.
- Wedding Videographers have a sense of what the right moment for certain shots are. We've done countless weddings and know what to expect and what are the shots that will just floor the bride and groom when they watch it. We also know what music goes with what shots in the editing and what provides for joy and happiness when clients watch. If we didn't do these things right, we wouldn't be making any money.
- Over 80% of brides surveyed say that they are so happy that they decided to get a wedding video done. Their advice to others is, "Do It, You'll be glad you did!"
- Wedding Videos can be as romantic and sappy as you want them to be. I've had clients that have asked for a more laid back and fun video rather then emotional, ones that have been more into drama and suspense and wanted their video to have a feel of mystery to it. We can do whatever it is that you would like it to look like - with enough advance notice of course!
- You often hear the phrase that a picture is worth a thousand words, can you even imagine how many words a video is worth. While a photographer is setting up a shot or changing their memory card, the videographer keeps going, and gets those candid "I Love You"s that are said between the bride and groom as they pose near the river's edge. We hear comments like "I am so happy to be your wife today, I can't wait for our future!" Needless to say, photography doesn't capture those sounds.
- Your wedding video is not only a memory of the day but it is a memory of both of you, the bride and the groom, and what and where you were on that day. It is one that you can share with future generations and it's a way to allow them to see into your lives a little bit more than you could with your ancestors. Often times I look at black and white photos of great-great grandparents and wonder who and what they were like. Just think, your kin can have that with a wedding video!
- And finally, why get wedding video? If I haven't convinced you enough of the value of video then I am not a great salesperson. All I can say in closing is that I have yet to hear a bride regret getting a wedding video. I've heard brides complain that maybe they didn't pick the best company or things like that but never ever have I heard that they wish they didn't have the video.
A wedding video is truly priceless.
**Above I had mentioned video captures more and more then photo ever can. This is not to say that video should replace photo or that photo is not needed. Photo is essential and is as highly praised and worthwhile as video! If you need ideas of great photographers just look to the right where there are links for local photographers!
